Celebrating Halloween...FILIPINO STYLE!!! What's a better way to celebrate Halloween than by eating Halo-Halo?? Come make some and enjoy some Halo-Halo with your friends at CCNY. ☑ Mr. PI 2013
This year's Mr. PI (Mr. Philippines) will be held at NYU on November 17th. Simply put, Mr. PI is a "mangeant," meaning that it's a pageant for guys. It consists of the sections found in a typical pageant: cultural, talent, Q&A, etc. This is one of the few big events held in D3 (District 3), meaning that other Filipino clubs throughout NYC, Long Island, and Northern NJ will be participating. Our PAO Mr. PI representative is MATTHEW SALVADOR!!! Come out on November 17th to show some support and to have a fun night.
☑ Kamayan! Night
PAO will be hosting a themed dinner event to bring Filipino arts and culture to the CCNY community. The whole campus and other D3 schools are invited. The event will have three themes: Kamayan, Sayawan, and Kantahan. Kamayan is Filipino for eating with one’s hands, where we invite our guests to eat their food with their hands. Sayawan is Filipino for dancing, where we will have cultural dances performed, followed by inviting our guests to participate in a few more dances afterward. Kantahan is Filipino singing, where we will have club members perform as well as inviting our guests to an open microphone. Afterwards, we would continue the night with serving the food as well as holding really cool fundraiser activities, where revenues would be split 50% with the club and 50% with UNICEF Philippines. Best of all, IT'S A FREE EVENT! It'll be a lot of fun so make sure you come out!
